UNDERWOOD, Donald L. – Of Flint, age 89, died Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Regency of Grand Blanc.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at
St. Matthew Catholic Church, 706 Beach Street, Flint, Father James Mangan officiating.
Burial in Old Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 2:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Donald was born in Flint, Michigan on April 23, 1928 the son of the late Milo and Margaret (Turner) Underwood and was a resident of Flint.
On April 4, 1951 he married Madalyn Standal at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Mr. Underwood retired from General Motors-Buick Motor Division, after 35 years of service.
Don will always be remembered by his willingness to share a good joke and a laugh.
He was loved by all who knew him.
Surviving are wife, Madalyn;
nephews and nieces, all of whom he loved with great pride, Robert W., (Deborah) Standal, Jr.,
Thomas P. (Maria) Standal,
James E. (Lisa) Standal,
Mary Lisa (Mark) Joslyn,
Ann-Marie Okros,
Robbie (Chelsey) Underwood and
Wendy Underwood;
special niece, Mary Pawloski;
many great-nieces and nephews;
brother, Robert Underwood.
