Henry Jay Cunningham, age 56 of Morrice, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 509 Main St. Morrice, Michigan 48857 with the Rev. Fr. John Bosco officiating. Family will receive friends at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Perry Chapel Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m.
Henry was born February 21, 1959 in Lansing to the late John Richard and Lillie Belle (Robinson) Cunningham. He graduated from Morrice High School in 1977 and later married Fay Lou Fike in Midland on June 16, 1984.
Mr. Cunningham worked for General Motors at the Flint Truck and Bus Plant for 37 years, retiring in February of this year and was a proud member of the UAW local 598. Henry was a very gifted man and fantastic woodworker, building his family's home. He enjoyed his motorcycle and gardening and had a great love for his family.
Henry is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years, Fay; son, Henry Jay "Hank" (Rebecca) Cunningham II of Perry; daughters: Loleta (Kris Rosekrans) Fike-Smith of Morrice, Katrina Lin Cunningham of Morrice, Kandice Jean Cunningham of Morrice; grandson, Henry Jay "Trey" Cunningham III; 3 sisters: Mary (Dave) Whitaker of Morrice, Kathleen Rahnama of Virginia, Sheri (John) Lonewolf of Virginia and many nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Richard "Jack" Cunningham, Jr.
