Gibbs, Carolyn Mae, of Flushing, age 81, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Majestic Care of Flushing. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until the time of the service at noon. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church.
Carolyn was born on April 22, 1942, the daughter of Everett and Freda (Hoevay) Sargent. She married David Gibbs in Flushing on September 16,1961. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2012. Carolyn worked as a Stenographer in Medical Records at McLaren. Together with her husband, they enjoyed traveling and being members of the Michigan Farm Bureau of Genesee County. Carolyn was famous for making cookies and deviled eggs and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Brian and wife Gina Gibbs, Steven and wife Stephanie Gibbs; grandchildren, Stefanie and husband Jason Rosencrantz, Adam and wife Caitlin Gibbs, Charles Muma, Tim and wife Amanda Muma, Bryan Muma; great-grandchildren, Jason and Sadie Rosencrantz, Elijah Gibbs, Brooklyn Muma; and dear friends Phill and Debi Decker, Mike Habermehl, and Ray and Brenda Rushing. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Delbert and Donald Sargent; brothers-in-law, Robert and Darrell Gibbs; and close friend Ann Habermehl.
