MERRIHEW, Betty - of Clio, age 87, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Fostrian Manor. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. LuAnn Rourke officiating. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Betty was born July 3, 1928 in Barryton, MI to the late Empson and Maude (Hoffman) Bowen. She was a resident of Clio most of her life. She married Gale Merrihew on July 21, 1946. Mrs. Merrihew was a bus driver for Clio School District for 8 years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Surviving are: Husband, Gale; Sons: Dale (Patricia) Merrihew of Frankenmuth, Duane Merrihew of GA; 3 Grandchildren: Chad (fiancé Amy), Lisa (Aaron) Kern, Scott (Elizabeth); 10 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters-in-law: Bernadine Bowen of Barryton, Aletha Chaffee of Weidman; many nieces and nephews; special friends Wava and Keith Valliere.
