DEMERLY, Gail D. – of Davison, age 82, passed away June 20, 2018 at Warwick AFC. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Dr. Sang “Abraham” Chun officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM – 2 PM and 4-8 PM Tuesday and 11 AM until time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Gail was born in Joyfield Twp., Benzie Co., MI on September 13, 1935, son of the late Jake and Lottie (Richter) Demerly. He married Shirley Alward on June 18, 1955 with who he just celebrated their 63rd anniversary. Gail enjoyed bowling, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He worked at GM – Parts and Service in Swartz Creek before retiring in 1992.
Gail is survived by his wife, Shirley Demerly; children, Deborah (Russell) Harvey, Denise Lukonen and David Lukonen; grandchildren, Nicole (Zach), Ryan (Katrina), Aaron (fiancé, Sierra), Heather (Ryan) and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Addison, Cash, Alex and Jeramiah; brother, Ron (Judy) Demerly; sister-in-law, Harriett Demerly; many nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Bandie. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Demerly.
