ROOT, Audrey Jean (Anderson) – of Davison, MI, age 91, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Charter Senior Living. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Robert Harrison officiating. Private interment will take place in Millington Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM Monday, September 16, 2019 and 10-11 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice or a charity of donor’s choice, in Jean’s memory.
Jean was born in Flint, MI on October 3, 1927, daughter of the late Noe and Myrtle (Ross) Anderson. She married Lyndon “Lynn” G. Root on March 27, 1947 in Davison, MI and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2016. Jean devoted her life to her home and family. She was an accomplished homemaker and cook. Jean also assisted her husband, Lynn, in his catering business for many years. She was an outgoing and friendly person. Jean loved spending time with family and friends and was always eager to play a game of cards. She especially enjoyed all her grandchildren and was proud of their accomplishments.
Jean is survived by 2 children, Diana (Glen) VanAntwerp and Larry (Sandy) Root; 2 grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer) VanAntwerp and Sara (Rob) Harrison; 9 great-grandchildren, Lydia, James, Rebekah, Margaret, Bronwyn, John, Helen, Iain and Elizabeth; 3 step-grandchildren, Jill (Steve) St. John, Brian (Patty) Larmor and Jason (Lauren) Larmor; 4 step-great-grandchildren, Zach, Olivia, Autumn Rose and Raegan; sister, Rose (Jack) Lindsay; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Root; parents, Noe and Myrtle Anderson; step-great-granddaughter, Emma Grace and 8 brothers.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of Charter Senior Living and Kindred Hospice for their compassionate and professional care of Jean.
