LIGHTHISER, Clifford E. – of Maumee, OH, formerly of Davison, MI, age 95, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 in Ohio. A Memorial Service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Davison, 208 E. Fourth St., Davison; Rev. Dr. Robert Wisehart officiating. Burial of cremated remains will take place following the memorial service in Davison Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 10 AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, 1 Hurley Plaza, Flint, MI 48503, c/o Linda Stephens.
Clifford was born in Elba, MI on April 12, 1923, son of the late Fred W. and Blanche Lighthiser. He married Katheleen Busch on March 23, 1946 and they were wed for 60 years. She preceded him in death in January 2007. He married Leatha (Stone) Lighthiser, October 2010, who passed away in Florida, January 2018. Cliff was active in many clubs, held several church offices, sang in several choirs and was President of Betmar Acres Retirement Community in Zephyrhills, Florida for many years. He was an Advertising Account Executive for the Flint Journal, retiring after 30 years. He served as BM/2C in the U. S. Navy, during World War II from September 3, 1942 – December 14, 1945. Cliff was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davison and First Congregational Church of Zephyrhills, FL.
Clifford is survived by daughters, Vicki S. (Wayne) Gates and Linda K. (Merle) Lobban; son, Michael J. (Maureen) Lighthiser, Sr.; 6 grandchildren, Lisa Marshall, Lori Stanton, Leslie Gates, Michael Lighthiser, Jr., Matthew Lobban and Mark Lighthiser; 9 great grandchildren. We extend our sincere thanks to the many staff members of the Elizabeth Scott Community who lovingly cared for Clifford the last two years.
