GEROW, Barbara Jean –Formerly of Flushing, and current resident of Village Manor in Howell, age 77, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at University Hospitals.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Mark Milatz officiating.
Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Flint Memorial Park.

Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born in Flint, Michigan on August 29, 1934, daughter of the late Roy and Violet (Lindsay, adopted name, Berry) Snider. On June 17, 1951 she married Robert Gerow, her “honey” of 60 years.
In the 1970’s Barbara worked for the Flint Board of Education as a teacher’s aide, but she spent the majority of her years caring for her five daughters as a stay-at-home mom. Barbara Jean loved talking on the phone, getting her hair done and recently developed a fondness for receiving manicures. Since pink was her favorite color, it’s no surprise that she always chose a bright pink polish. In addition, Barbara was known to be a thrifty shopper and could often be found at her favorite store, Dollar Tree, stocking up on bargains. On Saturdays in the fall, she enjoyed watching football and cheering on her beloved Michigan Wolverines to victory. She also loved to sing and dance and always wanted others to join in. This, along with her silly sense of humor and infectious smile, brought so much joy to those around her. She truly was the “life of the party” and, although she will be greatly missed, she left behind so many beautiful memories for those who loved her. “Whoop! Whoop!”
Barbara Jean is survived by her loving husband, Bob;
children, Cathy (Gary) Bell, Gail Lewek, Debbie (Gary) Davis,
Vicki (Jim) Mitchell and Cheri Taylor (Todd Jacob);
12 grandchildren;
4 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Barbara) Snider and sister, Marie Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 sisters.
