Age 90, of Flint, died Friday, December 13, 2019, at Sugarbush Manor in Flint. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, December 20, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Following services, cremation will take place in accordance with Maxine's wishes.
Maxine was born February 28, 1929, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Martha (O'Neil) Staley. She and Harry Orr were united in marriage on November 30, 1946, in Flint. Her career path would lead her General Motors where she worked for 22 years prior to her retirement. During her time with GM, she was a member, delegate and committeewoman for UAW Local #651. Maxine was also very busy as a volunteer serving many places in many capacities, some of which included: the Hurley Medical Center, Davison VFW Post #4087, the Senior Citizens Anticrime Network, the March of Dimes, the Eastside Senior Center, the Democratic Party of Genesee County and she was a special deputy for the Genesee County Sheriff's Department.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Clarisa Inman; brother, James Staley; many nieces, and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her: parents; husband Harry, Sr.; son, Harry, Jr.; brother, Clifford; and three sisters: Gladys, Florabell, and Althea.
