Clarence Joseph Jasper, 82, a lifetime resident of North Branch, died Wednesday June 4, 2014. He was born October 20, 1931, at his family’s home in North Branch, to parents John and Marie (Kula) Jasper. Clarence married Monna Ivory on June 6, 1952 in North Branch.
Mr. Jasper proudly served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He returned home to find work with AC Delco, where he was in machine repair for 19 years. Clarence also worked at Dick Coulters, Vessleys and Nolans Farm Equipment. He was a life member of the Lapeer Fire Locks, NRA, NMRA and the 3 Fires Club, he was even a gun smith. Mr. Jasper was a life member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being a member of the Saginaw Walleye Club.
Clarence is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years: Monna, children: Kim (Daniel) Shoults, David Jasper, daughter-in-law: Patty Jasper, grandchildren: Eric Jasper, Andrea (Ashok) Rawat, Tonya Shoults, Daniel (Melissa) Shoults, Jesica Jasper, special family member: Phil Rose, great-grandchildren: Jake, Alivia, siblings: Gerald Jasper, Dorothy Nolan and Fred (Sharon) Jasper. He was preceded in death by his son: Mark Jasper, brother: George Jasper, two infant sisters and his parents.
Visitation will be 4:00-9:00pm Friday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. His funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the funeral home, officiated by their friend, Pastor Roger Keur. Burial will be in Stiles Cemetery, with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard.
