LUSSIER, Joseph “Hank” – of Flint, age 80, passed away January 4, 2016 at Pines of Burton Assisted Living. A Memorial Dinner will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Hank was born in Flint, MI on February 12, 1935, son of the late Henry and Irene (Thibeault) Lussier. He married Barbara Cummins on April 7, 1956. Hank was a successful coach at Kearsley Schools, coaching wrestling and chess earning the title of “The Man” from his wrestlers. He also coached his son in weight lifting who became a state champion and set a record for power lifting. Hank retired from GM after 42 years of service.
Hank is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; children, Henry M. (Valerie) Lussier, Stephanie A. Howard; grandchild, Jayme B. Howard; siblings, AnnaMarie Andrykovich, Lois E. Watkins, Raymond A. (Susan) Lussier; sister-in-law, Roseann Lussier; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and Michael Lussier.
