DEES, Jimmie Douglas - of Montrose, age 69 died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Leming officiating. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 1: 00 PM until time of service at 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the Charity of Choice.
Jimmie was born May 25, 1948 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to the late Ambre and Clara (Herron) Dees. He grew up in Mississippi and has resided in the Montrose area for the past 43 years. He served his country in the US Army from 1968 to 1970. On October 15, 2004 he married Donna M. DeMeyer in Toledo, Ohio. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an Equipment Operator for the DPW in Mt. Morris. Jimmie was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Montrose and the Teamsters. He was a cowboy, farmer, and enjoyed his John Deere tractors. Jimmie liked to socialize with people and play his guitar.
Surviving are: Wife, Donna; Daughter, Stephanie (Danny) Davis; Step Children, Alyssa (Dan Ketchum) Killoren, Damien (Simone) Killoren; Siblings, Doyce “Jess” (Bea) Dees, Shirley Smith, Dalvis Dees; several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Hazel.
