GEORGE, Gary K. - Of Alcona County, age 68, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice or the Veterans Association.
Visitation 1-3pm and 5-8pm Friday and 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gary was born in Kennett, Missouri on May 26, 1946, the son of Langdon and Cornelia (Brooks) George. Gary served and was a Decorated Veteran in the United States Army during Vietnam. He retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. Gary was an avid hunter, fisherman and in his younger years, a pool player.
Surviving are children, Sean and wife Meaghan of Fenton and Brandy Piechowski;
grandchildren, Tyler, Tristan and Carson;
sister, Deborah and husband Larry Strawser;
close friends, Matt, Glen, Scott, Bill and many others;
and many nieces and nephews.
