SAWERT, Ulf - Of Grand Blanc, age 75, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 4pm Thursday, December 21, 2017 at New Life Christian Fellowship Church 2237 Reid Road, Grand Blanc,
Pastor Bob Roberts officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church Mission Fund.
Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 3pm Thursday at church until the time of the service.
Ulf was born in Germany on November 25, 1942 the son of Walter and Gerta (Raetz) Sawert. On November 27, 1965, he married Roberta Heltsley in Madisonville, Kentucky. He was employed with AC Spark Plug, and then at Delphi and most recently at Cooper-Standard in Auburn Hills. He was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship. Ulf earned his Engineering Degree from Purdue University and was in the United States Navy. He enjoyed reading naval history and serving at church.
Surviving are wife, Roberta of Grand Blanc;
son, Peter (Kristi) Sawert of Washington DC;
daughter, Kathleen Sawert of Grand Blanc;
grandsons, John, Benjamin and Samuel;
a niece and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sabina Freiberger.
