GRAY, John W. - Of Clio, age 82, died Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 12-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
John was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on January 21, 1937, the son of the late Charles and Inez (Huff) Gray. On February 19, 1972, he married Nancy Karbowski in Flint. John worked as a foreman for the City of Flint for 40 years. He also tended the grounds at Sunset Hills Cemetery for 5 years. John loved gardening, working in the yard and visiting the casino.
Surviving are wife of 47 years, Nancy;
Children, Tammy (Keith) Freund, Vickie Roberts (Rocky) and Rick Gray (Lori);
Grandchildren, Alexandrea Moore (Trenton), Cole Beck (Megan), Ashley Gray (Nathan), Nick Roberts (Jaymie), Jennifer Besaw (Mike), Michael Gray (Deborah);
And 5 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Gray, daughter, Janet Sue, 3 brothers, and a sister.
