PACYNE, Katherine Ann - age 94, of Flint, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Jacobs Ladder in Grand Blanc. A memorial mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton with Fr. Steve Anderson celebrant. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday night at the funeral home. Mrs. Pacyne was born October 16, 1922 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of George and Theresa (Fritz) Bohlken. Katherine came to Flint with her mother and sister to join their father who had come previously for a job at General Motors. She grew up in Flint going to St. Matthew Grade School and High School. After graduating she studied to be a beautician and ended up working for and retiring from "Chevy in the Hole". She met the love of her life Leonard J. Pacyne and was married on August 12, 1950, the greatest day of her life. She and Leonard had three children together. They also loved to travel and go to their home at Houghton Lake. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church since 1985 and a lifetime member of McLaren Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are: three children, Douglas Pacyne, Teresa "Teri" Pacyne, and Jeffery Pacyne of Gold Canyon, AZ; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica of AZ; and grandson, Jacob of AK. She also leaves behind, niece, Barbara Lovinger-Back of Grand Rapids and special friend, Carol Miller. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Leonard; and sister, Mary.
