FARR, Wilma Jean (Decker). – of Birch Run, age 90, died Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Bavarian Comfort Care of Bridgeport. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Pastor Fred Smith officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 1PM until 8PM and Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
Wilma Jean was born on December 20, 1928 in Mt. Morris, Michigan to the late Fred and Gladys (Rinehart) Decker. She attended Mt. Morris Schools and later Michigan State University. Wilma Jean married Elwin Farr on April 9, 1949 in Flint. Upon retirement they moved to Gladwin. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, knitting, crafts, and gardening. Wilma Jean also enjoyed music and taught piano lessons for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Husband, Elwin Farr; Daughters: JoAnn Langmaid of Birch Run, and Jill Farr of Millington; Sons: Ralph (Julie) Farr of Millington, and Ray (Robin) Farr of Clio; Daughter in law, Debra Farr of Flushing; Grandchildren: Charlotte (Eric) Minar, Nate (Nicole) Farr, Nicole (Nick) Atkin, Matthew (Lisa) Farr, Amy Farr, Jessica (Alex) Benoit, Jeremy (Stephanie) Farr, Andrea (Draven) Curell, and Hunter Farr; Step grandchildren: Heather Meachem, Amanda Mitchell, and Amy Mitchell; Great grandchildren: Sawyer, Charlie, Riley and Jace Atkin, Hailey Farr, Madelynn and Hayden Farr, Grayson Benoit; Step great grandchildren: Abbygail, Jeffery, Evan, Aiden, Mackenzie, and three on the way. Wilma Jean was also preceded in death by her son, Rodney Farr; Son in law, Robert Langmaid; Brother, Arthur (Grace) Decker; Sister, Ruth (Willis) Carroll.
