PUTNAM, Virginia – of Birch Run, died Monday, February 13, 2017 at her residence. She was 92 years of age.
Virginia was born July 14, 1924 in Iowa to the late Julius and Cecille Herbin. She was a long time resident of Burt and Gladwin, most recently Birch Run. Virginia was united in marriage to Robert Putnam on December 9, 1943 in Maryland. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1991. She was a member of TOPS for 28 years and enjoyed traveling and dancing.
Surviving are: Sons: Gary (Connie) Putnam of Birch Run, Rodney Putnam (Companion Mary) of North Bradley; Daughter-in-law, Bobbie Putnam of Ludington; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: a son, Roy Putnam on November 9, 2014; and 3 brothers, Ray, Leo and Art Herbin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Rev. Rey Mondragon officiating. Private burial in Gilmore Cemetery in Farwell will take place on Monday. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 2-8 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to the family.
