Chambers, Jane Carmela of Flushing, formerly of Flint, age 93, died Thursday, March 1, 2018. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. She will be taken to her final resting place at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint, MI.
Jane was born on October 3, 1924, in Leetonia, Ohio. She was the daughter of Anthony and Madgalen Mercure. Jane graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College and Bowling Green State University. She was a member of American University Women’s Association, Delta Zeta Sorority, Lady Wolverton Needle Guild, and National Education Association of Michigan. She taught 40 years at Bendle, Flint Southwestern, and Grand Blanc High Schools. In 1947, she married Robert Leonard Chambers. Together, they had 4 children. Rob (deceased in 1982), Debra and husband Tom Schofield of Holland, MI, Jana and husband Tim Lamb of Flushing, MI, Greg and wife Teri Chambers of Laguna Niguel, CA; grandchildren, Bryan and fiancé Amber Schofield, Elizabeth and husband Ryan Levandoski, Emily and husband Chip Macomb, Sarah-Jayne Lamb, Corey, Kayla, Olivia and Owen Chambers; great-grandchildren, Alex, Dylan, Lucas, Liam, Lucas Wayne, Evelyn and Ace. Surviving are her three sisters; Jerri Drexler, Theresa Bruderly and Audrienne Frederick, all of Ohio. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Rob; sister, Evelyn and brothers, Vincent and Albert.
Donations can be made to Holy Redeemer Church or a charity of your choice. Jane leaves many loving family members and friends. Thank you to McLaren Hospice and Hyde Park for their loving care.
