William C. Roka
Age 87 of Owosso passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 surrounded by his family.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 10am Monday, October 14, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Owosso with Fr. Mike Depcik officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home of Owosso on Sunday from 2 to 8pm with a rosary prayer at 6pm.
William was born on July 14, 1926 in Saginaw, the son of William and Theresa (Forro) Roka.
He graduated from Michigan School of the Deaf. William was a devout Catholic and member of St. Paul Catholic Church. William married Patricia Donahue on June 22, 1963 and celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past summer.
He enjoyed playing card games and woodworking. He was a past member of Owosso Association of the Deaf. William loved vacationing with family and enjoyed watching sports, whether it was on the television or his grandchildren playing.
William retired from Roycraft Industries of Chesaning where he had been employed as a pipe fitter.
He is survived by his wife Patricia; children Karen (Robert) Zambiasi, Sam Roka, Patrick (Karen) Roka and Jason Roka (Morgan); six grandchildren Hannah, Lauren, Evan, Logan, Aidan and Emery; sister Ethel Becker; many other loving family and friends.
William was predeceased by his parents; brother Charles Roka; sisters Mary Bauman, Teresa Mitas, Elizabeth Finch and Ester Mack.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Diocese of Lansing Office of Deaf Ministry.
