MORRISH, Michael "Pops" James – of Montrose, age 72, died Tuesday September 29, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, October 2, 2015 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Rev. Bob Leming officiating. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors on Tuesday at 2:30PM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-9PM and on Friday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Mike was born September 1, 1943 in Flushing to the late Wilber and Eleanor (Reed) Morrish. He was a resident of Montrose for the last 66 years. He served in the US Navy from 1961 to 1965. Mike married Gloria Cole on October 28, 1978.
Surviving are: loving wife of 37 years, Gloria; 5 wonderful children: Michele Pasheek, Jeff Guest, Brian Guest, Kerri Sherbino, Geri Ann Stafford; 10 grandchildren that he was buddies with each of them: Robert, Adam, Jeremy, Brian II, Rachel, Melissa, Heather, Veronica, Brock and Cody; 15 great grandchildren; sisters: Bonnie Miller of Flushing, Diane Wilder of Clio, Pat McMillan of Montrose; sister-in-law, Lorraine Morrish of Clio; brother-in-law, Donald and Shirley Cole of Clio, Michael and Pamela Shaw of Millington, Dennis and Pam Hall of Lansing; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: brothers: Carl, Gary, Donald and David; great grandson, Colt Ryan Powell; brothers-in-law: Bill Wilder, Mike McMillan and Dar Miller; sons-in-law, Dave "Pete" Larkin, Robert Gorecki and Clayton Van Wormer.
