George William “Bill, Mr. Z” Zacharias, passed away peacefully, at the age of 90, on Monday, July 31, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, proud grandfather, great grandfather, caring friend and will be remembered for his sincere and genuine love of life. He will be sadly missed, but forever in our hearts. Bill was born in Flint on May 1, 1927. He graduated from Flint Central High School. Bill and his wife, Sonja, were the proud business owners of Mr. Z & Company Jewelry in the Flint area for over 40 years and touched many lives. He leaves behind his loving memories to be cherished by his wife, Sonja Zacharias; children: Roxanne (Chris) Lutey, Ronda (Larry) Fetkenhier, Bill (Jennifer) Zacharias, Jody (Todd DeVries) Polk, Jan Mutzl; daughter-in-law Vickie Polk; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat Baby. Bill was preceded in death by his parents: Vow and Bernice Zacharias; sons Randall Scott Zacharias and Jeff Polk; brothers Arthur and Charles, and sister Edith. A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4-8pm and again on Friday, one hour before the service, beginning at 11am. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make a memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. |
