BRASIER, Charles W. – of Clio, age 79, died Monday, June 17, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, June 21, 2013 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Bob McGraw officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Thursday from 12-2PM and 4-9PM, with a scripture service at 7PM. He will lie in state at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until time of mass. Contributions may be made to SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church.
Charles was born on January 23, 1934 to the late Ira “Buss” and Wilma (Winter) Brasier, and has lived in Clio since 1958 coming from Dexter, MO. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Charles married Nanette Neering in Bay City on September 6, 1958. He was a math teacher for the Clio School District. Charles was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was involved in many church activities. He was a Cast and Crew amphitheatre photographer. Charles enjoyed playing his guitar, spending time with family and friends, and spending his winters in the Colonnades in Lakeland, FL.
Surviving are: wife, Nanette; children, Brian (Rhena) Brasier of Howell, Robert (Christine) Brasier of Long Grove, IL, Thomas (Debbie) Brasier of Polk City, IA, DeAnne (David) Polen of Linden; 10 grandchildren, Kyle, Alyson, Meagan, Eric, Emily, Mitch, Kate, Jill, Madison, Carlie; brothers, Donald (Dorothy) Brasier of Centerville, IN, Daniel (Anne) Brasier of Black River, Mark (Dawn) Brasier of Flushing. He was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Dolores and Janice.
