FREEMAN, Lawrence Duane (Ike) – of Flint, age 90, passed away May 29, 2018 at his home. A Time of Sharing will be held 4-5 PM Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison followed by a Memorial Service under the auspices of Masonic Lodge #210 at 5 PM. Visitation will be 11 AM-4 PM Saturday. Cremation will follow services.
Duane had a passion for shuffleboard, hockey, and he never met a person that he couldn’t have a great discussion with. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of the Free Masons and a proud Union member of the Teamsters Local 332. Duane was a truck driver for Henry Vroom, then retired as a car hauler for Completer Auto Transit in 1989.
Duane is survived by his loving wife of 68 wonderful years, Alida; sons, Larry (Liz), Randy, Terry and Aaron (Alice); daughters, Kim (Ed), Julie (Tracey), Diane (Chris) and Rachelle (Rafael); 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter and his brother, Kenneth (Sybil). Duane’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you and big hugs to the hospice caretakers from Reverence Hospice Care, especially Bobbi and Fran.
