halmers, John “Jack” R., age 91 of Flint, died Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Candlestone Assisted Living Facility, Midland, Michigan. John was born August 13, 1928 in Flint, the son of Peter and Mabel Chalmers. Jack was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint and he loved teaching and promoting the importance of an education. He retired from Mott Community College and Davenport University. Preceding him in death is wife of 61 years, Wilma Chalmers. Surviving are his sister Carol (Bob) Shapiro; his sons: Richard (Bonnie) Chalmers, Bruce (Evonda) Chalmers; grandchildren: Mathew, Andrew, and Megan. The family would like to send special thanks to Vicki Van Warner and Bryan Cranick for their love and support. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church, 746 Saginaw St., Flint. Reverend Paul Ytterock officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church. |
