Prchlik, John of Flushing,age 84, died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the Mass. A rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic School.
John was born in Flint, Michigan on May 11, 1931, the son of John F. and Rosie (Dvorak) Prchlik. He married Mary Dick on April 23, 1955 at St. Michael Catholic Church in New Lothrop. John was employed by General Motors and worked at Chevy in the Hole, retiring after 34 years. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of St. Robert Catholic Church for 58 years. John enjoyed camping, cruising, and gardening, but his greatest joy was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; sons, James Prchlik of Metamora, Scott Prchlik of Flushing, Steven and wife Julie Prchlik of Flushing; daughter, Nancy and husband Rob Essler of Chaska, MN; grandchildren, Jeremy, Megan and Johnathan Prchlik, Sarah, Angela, Emily and Ryan Prchlik, Robert and Rachel Essler, Blaine, Kyle, Riley and Chase Prchlik; brother, Edward and wife Emily Prchlik. John was preceded in death by his parents; sons, John T. and Robert Prchlik; and brother, Joe Prchlik. |
