HENSON, Shirley Ann – Of Swartz Creek, age 80, died peacefully Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Lisa Lahring
officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a church or charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 12 noon Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Shirley was born in Vinton, Iowa on March 8, 1935, the daughter of
the late Earl and Merle (Baker) Powers.
She was an avid doll collector and liked making clothes for them. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Shirley also enjoyed sewing, camping, snowmobiling, go-karting and
loved Christmas.
She was a nurse for over 50 years.
Loving mother to surviving children, Angie (Henson) Myers,
Sheri Henson,
Robert Henson and
Richard Henson;
13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;
sister, Mary (Ron) Walker;
special nephew, Steve and many other loving nieces and nephews;
special friends, Nancy, Mary Lee, Donna, Vicky and Richard.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Melvin, Richard Marion and Emmett (Santa Claus) and sister, Helen.
