Donald H. Mayberry, age 78, of Columbiaville went to be with his Lord on June 4, 2014 at Hurley Hospital.
Don was born July 25, 1935 in Flint, and is the son of the late Henry and Hazel Mayberry. He married Margie Artress on July 24, 1954.
Don served his country honorably in the National Guard & Army Reserve, and was a member of the Columbiaville United Methodist Church where he had taught Sunday school, chaired the staff pastor parish committee and belonged to the United Methodist Men. He was also a past member of the Columbiaville Rotary Club and Jaycee’s. Don enjoyed carpentry, horticulture, reading, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. He was the type man that would do anything he could to help someone, and all enjoyed his company.
Don is survived by his children: Richard ( Nancy ) Mayberry, Gregg Mayberry, Mitchell ( Ronda ) Mayberry, Dana Lynn ( Eric ) Phelps,
Stephenie ( Kevin ) Millard, brother: Carl ( Joanie ) Snyder, and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margie, siblings: Raymond Mayberry, and Victoria Carroll.
Funeral service Monday 11:00 AM at the Columbiaville United Methodist Church.
Friends may visit on Sunday 12:00 - 5:00 PM at Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville and on Monday 10:00 AM till time of service at the church. Pastor Esther Irish officiating. Memorials in memory of Don may be made to the Columbiaville United Methodist Church. |
