CHAMMAS, Hanneh – Of Flint Township, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Willowbrook Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church 4133 Calkins Road, Flint, Father Paul Tarabay officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Chammas will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Leban on Maronite Catholic Church.
Mrs. Chammas was born in Lebanon on November 15, 1927, the daughter of Tanious and Yamami Badr.
In 1960 she married Aziz Chammas in Zahle, Lebanon.
She immigrated to the U.S. In 1987.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church.
She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed her family, friends and all that knew her.
Surviving are children, Colette and husband Barhoum Rizk of Swartz Creek,
Takla and husband Ramzi Berberi of Virginia,
Elias and wife Hanan (Badr) of Grand Blanc;
grandchildren, Carol and husband Dr. Nabil Nouna of Kalamazoo,
Tony and Elie Rizk of Swartz Creek,
Anthony, George, Michael, Joseph and Rita Chammas;
great-grandchildren, Joelle and Joseph Nouna;
many nieces and nephews from Lebanon and around the world.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aziz; son, George; also her parents and siblings.
