KILLINGER, Robert F. – of Grand Blanc, formerly of Sebewaing, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. A Funeral Service, with Military Honors, will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Elder Tim Varner and Elder John Hart co-officiating. Burial will be 1 PM Sunday, November 24, 2019 at New Bay Port Cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday, November 22, 2019 from 1-3 PM & 5-8 PM at Allen Funeral Home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community of Christ Eastside Branch, 2120 Wilmar St., Burton, MI 48509.
Robert was born in Sebewaing, MI on April 17, 1930, son of the late Herman and I.O. (Dangler) Killinger. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and fought in the Korean War. He married Irene M. Conger and she preceded him in death on April 16, 1997 after 44 years of marriage. He then married Barbara Michael-Killinger and she preceded him in death on June 21, 2011. Robert retired from GM after 34 years of service and worked for Flint Auto Auction, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a Deacon and a member of Community of Christ Eastside Branch. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Robert T. Killinger; granddaughters, B.J. (Clint) Morrow and Kristina Rigdon of Grand Blanc; four wonderful great-grandsons, Gabe and Jake Morrow, Brady and Carson Rigdon of Grand Blanc; sister, Joyce Harder of Pigeon. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Killinger; siblings, Sarah Law, Lavere Killinger, John Killinger, Duane Killinger, Marion Stoekl, Ronald Killinger, Arnold Killinger and Danny Killinger.
