ADAMS, Evelyn J. – of Davison, age 93, passed away February 15, 2017 at Rose Cottage Assisted Living with her loving family by her side. A Funeral Service will be held 3 PM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Ron Stier officiating. A private burial will be held in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. Visitation will begin at 1 PM until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hometown Hospice 1681 Woodbridge Park Dr. Lapeer, MI 48446.
Evelyn was born in St. Louis, MO on February 14, 1924, daughter of the late Chester and Ida (Wade) Yenny. When she was 18 years old she married Fred Adams on April 11, 1942 in Bakersfield, CA. They were married for 57 years before his death in 1998. Evelyn was a member of Journey Ministries. She loved gardening, decorating her home and collecting dolls. Evelyn’s greatest joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Paul) Behrens and Susan (David) Norwick; grandchildren, Gary Rohrbach, Heather Behrens, Adam Beh, Alison Vankerckhove and Stephanie Lockyer; great-grandchildren, Nathan Rohrbach, Tyler Behrens, Will Vankerckhove, Ben Vankerckhove, James Lockyer and Iris Evelyn Lockyer; nieces, Carol Stecher and Patricia Sanctorum; nephews, Mike and David Adams; many friends and her church family at United Methodist Church and Journey Ministries in Davison. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Adams; sisters, Ellen, Marian, Marge and Goldie.
