Earl L. Welch, age 93, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Goodrich, died March 23, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Thurs. April 6, 2017 at the Dryer Funeral Home, with Pastor Linda Living-Hawley officiating. Military honors and inurnment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 9 AM Thurs. until the time of the service. Mr. Welch was born in Holly on Sept. 4, 1923 to Clifford and Mable (Slade) Welch. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army and was retired from General Motors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going up north. Surviving are his daughter Gaynelle Fisher (John Graybeal) of Holly; son David Welch; 2 grandchildren, Dustin (Ashley) Fisher of Zeeland and Alaina (Brian) Evans of Whitmore Lake; 3 great-grandchildren Brock, Brennen, and Trenton; and brother Richard (Louise) Welch of East Jordan. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, and siblings Jay Welch, Margaret Baker, Edward Welch, Madeline Welch, and Lucille Walton.
