Ray Gary Couture, 79, of Lapeer and Davison, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020.
Ray was born February 10, 1941 in Davison to Henry and Gladys (Carr) Couture. He graduated from Davison High School, class of 1959. Upon graduation, Ray enlisted in the US Army and served his country proudly for the next three years. In 1965 at the height of the Vietnam War Ray re-enlisted in the US Air Force where he was an electronic counter-measurement specialist – he served through 1969. He married Margaret Helen O’Leary on April 20, 1973 in Flint, Michigan. Ray went to work for Flint X-Ray, Inc. where his career as an x-ray equipment repairman spanned 35 years. Ray loved to shoot at the local rifle range, taught hunter’s safety courses and was a CDL instructor for many years.
Ray is survived by many nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Couture; brothers: Martin and Donald Couture; sister, Norma Owrey and his aforementioned parents.

Visitation will be 1-2PM Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Ray’s funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, February 15, 2020 Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. The Rev. Ann Norton will officiate. Burial at Mt. Loretto Cemetery will be followed by military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard.
