Clarence was born in Flint, Michigan on October 16, 1936, the son of the late Francis and Marilyn (Gerhart) Brockway. He was raised in Wheeler, Michigan on an 80 acre farm, where he learned to farm, and raise and sell livestock. He graduated from Breckenridge High School, Class of 1955. His dream was to become a veterinarian but farming and ultimately the trucking business would be his passion. On January 30, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Carole Chapman in St. Louis, Michigan. Together they raised two children. He began Brockway Transport, an independent trucking business, which he ran with his father until 1995. Along with the trucking business, Clarence was an insurance agent for IDS, operated several warehousing operations, owned and ran several apartment complexes and owned and operated Brockway’s Buggy Bath carwash for several years. His hobbies included small scale tractor collecting and restoring horse drawn farming equipment. He was always busy with his ventures and loved and enjoyed them immensely. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We love you.
Surviving are wife of 58 years, Linda; Son, Robert and partner, Robert Doran; Sister, Sandra and husband, John Farrar; many nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt, and several in-laws.
