Wonsey, Leslie H. of Flushing, age 75, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at Concerned Country Care in Montrose. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter will officiate. A private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Higgins Lake. Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Monday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or Michigan United Conservation Clubs.
Leslie was born in Flint, Michigan on April 29, 1942, the son of Herman and Margaret (Police) Wonsey. He married Gloria Stadler on February 27, 1965, at First Reformed Church in Flint. Leslie graduated from U of M-Flint and was a huge fan of all U of M athletics. He worked for General Motors, retiring after 32 years. As an avid outdoorsman, Leslie loved hunting, fishing, being in the woods and spending time at their cottage on Higgins Lake. Leslie also enjoyed reading. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio.
Leslie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria; daughters, Gina and husband Richard Owens of St. Clair, Wendy and husband Michael Moniz of White Lake; grandchildren, Emma, Abby, Alexander; dear friends, Marcia and Dar Wheeler, Pat and Betty Pudvay; and several cousins.
