ROUSE, EDWARD OLIVER - Of Grand Blanc, age 88, died Friday, March 4, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Paul Emory officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Edward was born in Durand, Michigan on May 13, 1927, the son of Daniel and Vera (Goff) Rouse.
He was a lifelong resident of the Flint area. He married Joyce Gregg on February 6, 1947 and she preceded him in death on February 15, 2009.
Edward served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Morning Star Lodge #556 and Committeeman with UAW, Local #598.
He attended Holy Ground Baptist Church.
He loved singing and dancing.
Mr. Rouse retired from General Motors Truck and Bus after 37 years of service.
Surviving are four children, Brenda and husband Homer Taylor of Flint, Debra and husband Patrick Horner of Georgia,
Rebecca Rouse of Mt. Morris,
Dana and wife Rita of Davison;
11 grandchildren;
22 great-grandchildren;
4 great-great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce.
