MARKS, Achilles "Ike" – Of Swartz Creek, age 92, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Wellbridge of Fenton.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 2245 East Baldwin Road, Reverend Father Joseph Abud officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Trisagion service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Achilles was born in Corfula, Greece on May 15, 1928. He married Afroditi Sideridou in 1958. Achilles was a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. He owned restaurants in the Flint and Lansing areas; most recently the Happy Hour Bar. His passion was his family, especially his grandchildren; hunting, fishing, gardening and beekeeping. He had been a Police Officer in Greece.
Surviving are wife, Afroditi;
children, Dimitra “Jean” Marks of Flint Township,
Maria Vomvolakis of West Bloomfield,
Tom and wife Kelly Marks of Fenton;
3 grandchildren, Katerina Vomvolakis, Stephanie Vomvolakis and Isabella Marks;
brother, Milton and wife Theodota Marks of Greece;
many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Those desiring may make contributions to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Serafime and Chrysoula Marks; sisters, Eva, Sandra, Malamati and Efrosini.
