Lewis E. Hodge, age 98 of Bancroft, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Country Crossing Adult Foster Care in Laingsburg.
Funeral service for Lewis will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Bancroft on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Randall Johnson will officiate with burial to follow at Union Plains Cemetery in Byron. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
Mr. Hodge was born in Antrim Township on March 11, 1916, the son of Eugene and Mina (Skinner) Hodge. He resided his entire life in Antrim and Burns Township in Shiawassee County. On July 11, 1939 he married Audrey G. Lewis in Bancroft, she predeceased him in August of 2012. Lewis was a farmer and a member of the Burns Grange Lodge #160 and the Michigan Farm Bureau. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and very special friends, the Dagen Family. He was predeceased by his wife, Audrey, sisters Louise Kane and Helen Horton, nephews Ellis and Gerald Horton.
