Ruth Louise Stover-Lange, 60, a lifetime resident of Lapeer passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on April 5, 1964 in Lapeer, MI. She graduated from Lapeer East High School and earned her Masters degree in education from U of M. Ruth taught english and journalism at North Branch High School for 20+ years and was heavily involved with the girls softball team, was a class sponsor, yearbook advisor, Quiz Bowl co-coach and student council leader. Previously she worked at Travel Adventures of Lapeer as a Tour Consultant and The Lapeer County Press as a Reporter. She enjoyed hosting many exchange students throughout the years. She was also very involved in the community by volunteering at American Red Cross, Business and Professional Women, the Maine Lodge (Rebekah’s # 319), Delta Kappa Grammar Tutor Association, Habitat for Humanity, churches she has attended, taught English in Spain, and was on the board of directors at The Refuge homeless shelter in Lapeer.
When Ruth wasn't traveling all over the world, she enjoyed watching baseball and online shopping. She loved her cats and thoroughly enjoyed spoiling her great-grandchild and her nieces and great-nieces and great-nephew. Anyone that knew Ruth knows what a giving, selfless and social person that she was. She will be deeply missed by many people that loved her dearly.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bill Lange; step children Nathan (Kari) Lange, Crystal (Brandon) Cordes, and Rebekah (Rocrickius) Gibbs; step grandchildren Kayla (Jamier), Rico, Isaiah, Gabrielle, Hunter, Emily (Chase), Kyler (Elizabeth) Mason, Madison; step great-granddaughter Jasmine; brother Ray (Rose) Stover; nieces Jessica (Trent) Limban, Samantha (Dieter) Gottschalk, Taylor Bruske, and Jalynn Bruske; great-nieces Stevie and Esme; great-nephew Kasper.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sherwin and Charlene Stover and many other beloved family members.
Friends may visit on Sunday, March 2nd from 2-6 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Methodist Church with one hour of vistation prior. Rev. Grant Lobb and Pastor Bob Taylor will co-officiate. Ruth will be laid to rest at Attica Township Cemetery. A luncheon will immediately follow. Memorial donations may be made to The Refuge Lapeer, LACADA, or Paradise Animal Rescue. |
