MINCA, Irma Louise (Hosler) – She was known as “Gram” to young and old alike, Of Flint, age 90, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Avalon Hospice.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Minca was born on July 3, 1920 and was a resident of Flint most of her life.
Irma married Stephen J. Minca in 1948 in Flint and he preceded her in death in 1996. Irma graduated from Columbiaville High School.
She enjoyed crafts, rock collecting, traveling, fishing, playing Bingo and spending time with her family and Tiger baseball. Irma retired from General Motors, AC Spark Plug Division in 1971, taking early retirement to travel with her husband and was a member of UAW Local #651.
Surviving are loving granddaughter, Lisa Johns of Flint and her children, Kathryn Johns and David Moreland; daughter-in-law, Lillian Moreland of Flint; special daughter, Julie Lengyel of Grand Blanc; grandson, Jason and wife Jennifer Lengyel of Grand Blanc; great-grandchildren, Katie and Christopher of Grand Blanc; granddaughter, Sandra and husband Rob Hozeska of Flint; grandson, John Moreland of New York; several nieces and nephews.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Steve; son, Delmar Moreland and daughter-in-law, Marsha Moreland, of Flushing; dear sister, Evelyn McClain of Florida and grandson, Paul Johns.
