Jack VanKuren, age 80 of Davison, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Jack worked at General Motors in Plant Security. He was a member of Lapeer Assembly of God. Jack loved bowling, playing banjo, the Detroit Tigers, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by wife, Mary Jane VanKuren; daughters: Debbie (Chris) VanKuren Honea and their daughter Ashley, Diane (Andreas) Etelkozi and their sons Colman and Lance; step-children: Diane (Tom) Shannon, Melanie Howard, Dan (Sue) Burger, Leanne (Dave) Hill; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, and his brothers Lester and Gordon; sister-in-laws Sharon and Judy; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by first wife, Susan (Moran) VanKuren in 2006; son, Dennis VanKuren in 1981; brother, Gerald in 2006. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Lapeer Assembly of God, 5065 Coldwater Rd., Lapeer, MI. Pastor Daniel Burger officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 3-8pm at Lapeer Assembly of God and again on Monday, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10am. Interment at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Grand Blanc, MI. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
