Joseph Armstead, age 88, died Sat. March 11, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Fri. March 17, 2017 at the Grace Bible Church of Grand Blanc, with Pastor Angel Garcia officiating, 2164 E. Grand Blanc Rd. Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Military honors and inurnment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Mr. Armstead was born in Ann Arbor on Aug. 5, 1928. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp from 1946-1948. In 1950 he reenlisted in the USMC and was promoted to SGT during the Korean War, serving until 1952. Joseph worked for Michigan Bell until he retired in 1983. He married his wife Berneice in 1953 and they had 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way to carry on the Armstead name. He is the beloved husband of Berneice; father of the late Joseph (Debra) Armstead, Jan (David) Passmore, John (Belinda) Armstead, and Jill (Richard) Winglemire; grandfather of Jamie, Joseph III, Hank, Brad, Daniel, Cody, Christina, Jessica, Benjamin, Jonathan, Alyssa Rae, and Jacob; great-grandfather of Kaeden, Landen, Makayla, Emma, Payton, Cameron, Robert, Alyssa, Mason, Connor, Miles, Brooklyn, and McKenzie. www.dryerfuneralhomeholly.com |
