Mary D. Justice
Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence following a three-month battle with advanced stage cancer. She was born Mary Theresa Daileda in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on April 4, 1941. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Anthony Daileda and Anna Rose (Wierbowski) Daileda, from Exeter, PA, as well as her only sibling, her sister, Dolores Daileda Avers.
Mary is survived by Fred Justice, her husband of nearly 52 years. She is also survived by her two children. Her son, Ted (Frederick Carlyle Justice III, 48), resides in Saginaw, MI. Her daughter, Kathleen Anne Justice Kirtek, M.D., 51, resides in Grand Blanc, MI. Mary is also survived by her son-in-law, J.R. Kirtek (Hugh A. Kirtek, Jr.), Ted’s significant other, Susan Denise Cooper; and her five beloved grandchildren, Timothy Joseph Kirtek (25), Katherine Elizabeth Kirtek (24), Andrew Christopher Kirtek (22), David James Kirtek (19), and Sarah Rose Kirtek (16), all from Grand Blanc. She also leaves behind countless friends and relatives, as well as "grandchildren-by-relationship," Ashley Kim (Drew Kirtek) and Andrew Freckelton (Katherine Kirtek).
Mary attended St. Cecelia's in Exeter, PA, where she was the valedictorian of her high school class. She then graduated with honors from Marywood College in Scranton, PA, with her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She married Frederick Carlyle Justice, Jr., on September 2, 1963.
Mary's and Fred's life's path brought them to Saginaw, Michigan, where they pursued their career goals and raised their two children. Mary was a perfectionist in everything she did. She was a brilliant and dedicated supervising registered medical technologist for St. Luke's Hospital and the Saginaw Medical Center until her retirement. She was an active member of The American Society of Clinical Pathologists (MT-ASCP) throughout her career and even in retirement. She fulfilled her lifelong passion for classical music by studying piano and music at Saginaw Valley State University, taking piano and voice lessons at the University of Michigan, and participating in a chorale society in Ann Arbor. She and Fred traveled the globe together, having the opportunity to visit many countries around the world. Her most recent endeavor was immersing herself in her church, St. John Vianney Catholic Church, in Saginaw, where she served as Secretary of the Parish Council.
While being a perfectionist at her career and her hobbies throughout the years, her greatest priority was her faith in God. Her most sincere passion in this world was her family, particularly her grandchildren. Her favorite thing in the world was being surrounded by her family. She was the perfect grandmother, not to mention the perfect wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Her smile lit up the room. No one had a kinder, gentler, more generous disposition than Mary. She truly touched the lives, hearts and souls of so many people. Her soothing voice and soft touch will be missed by all of us.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd. Rev. Fr.
