ERLER, Barbara J. - Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, October 19, 2020. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The service will be live streamed and can be viewed on Barbara's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Burial in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 5-9 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Montrose United Methodist Church, 158 E. State St., Montrose, MI 48457. Barbara was born August 28, 1940 in Flushing, the daughter of Clarence R. and Myrtle (Samson) Vaughn. She was a 1958 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. She married Kenneth W. Erler April 13, 1959 in Flint and he preceded her in death January 25, 2014. She had resided in the Swartz Creek area her entire life. She was a member of Montrose United Methodist Church. Barbara was a volunteer for U.A.W. Local 659 and a member of 4-H. She enjoyed collecting and making ceramic dolls and fishing.Surviving are: her children, Kenneth Erler, Jr. and wife Debbie of Keithville, LA, Catherine Vail and husband Max of Keithville, LA, Debra Ford and husband Steve of Flint, Donald Erler of Flint, Thomas Erler of Flint, Savannah Erler of Swartz Creek, and Sierra Erler of Swartz Creek; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings, Robert Vaughn and wife Julie of Linden, Nicholas Vaughn and wife Nancy of Charlotte, Terry Vaughn of Flint, and Randy Vaughn of Durand; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James Erler; brothers, Clarence, Ricky, Duane, James, Thomas, and Roger; and sister, Doris Montague.
