CAMERON, Joyce Maureen – of Holland formerly of Mt. Morris, age 85, died Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, Michigan. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Living Promise Free Methodist Church at 7457 Elms Road, Flushing Township, Michigan. Pastor Jack Andrews and Lynwood Andrews officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 11:30 AM until the time of service at the Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Joyce was born June 8, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late Charles and Sarah (Palmer) Andrews. She grew up in Mt. Morris, Michigan and graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the class of 1957. Joyce went onto Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught school in Lansing and Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Joyce was a member of the Mt. Morris Free Methodist Church, Delta Haven Free Methodist Church and the Clio Free Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Flint Genealogy Club for several years. Music was a big part of Joyce’s life, she played the piano and organ for several churches were she was a member of. Joyce enjoyed doing genealogy, quilting, reading and gardening. She also liked watching the birds, doing crossword puzzles, and doing word searches. However, her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Daughters, Deanna (Victor) Desantiago, Denise (Miguel) Archer, Michelle (Santana) Huerta; Grandchildren, Samantha (Anthony) Huerta, Sydney Archer, Tana Huerta, Jonathan Desantiago, Isabella Archer, Jerick Desantiago, Zachary Huerta; Great Grandchildren, Kairi George, Amir George; Father of her Children, Gary Cameron; Siblings, Lynwood Andrews, Janice (Bob) Strodtbeck, Charles “Chuck” (Sharon) Andrews, Jack (Kathy) Andrews; several nieces and nephews.
