Carol Lynn McDaniel, age 89, of Flushing, MI, passed away on May 23, 2024, at Hurley Medical Center. Carol was born on December 25, 1934, in Flint, MI, daughter of the late Donald and Leona (Delisle) Gardner.
Carol graduated from Flint Central High School. On May 23, 1953, Carol married the love of her life, Dale McDaniel, in Angola, IN. They shared many wonderful years together until Dale's passing on November 2, 2010.
Carol was a devoted member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed playing cards, gambling, bowling and golfing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she generously shared with those around her.
She is survived by her children: Cindy Jakeway, Susan (Scott) McPherson, Diane (Dave) Gagne, Lisa (Dan) Waldron, and David (Melanie Meyers) McDaniel; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Dale McDaniel; her daughter, Judy Bravender; son-in-law, Phil Bravender; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Elaine Gardner; and her sister, Patricia Holden.
A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, June 5th, at 11:00 AM at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing, officiated by Fr. Jonathan Perrotta. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, June 4, at Rossell Funeral Home, 307 E. Main St., Flushing, with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 PM, and one hour prior to the mass, at the church. Cremation has taken place, and she will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church or to the Salvation Army, in Carol’s memory. |
