OLAY, Julia – of Burton, age 94, passed away August 29, 2013 at Genesys Hospice Care Center - Goodrich. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6336 Roberta St., Burton; Rev. Fr. Carl Simon celebrant. Entombment will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8 PM Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice or the St. Joseph Hungarian Club of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Julia was born in Bay Bridge, OH on May 9, 1919, daughter of the late William and Julia (Petrick) Toney. She married Andrew J. Olay, Sr. on October 22, 1938 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Flint and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1999. Julia and her husband were founding members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, coming from St. Joseph Hungarian Parish. She was the Financial Secretary during the early years of the parish. Julia was a member of the St. Ann’s Guild, Altar Society and the St. Joseph Hungarian Club of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She also held positions as Secretary or Treasurer of all her clubs. Julia loved playing cards, going to casino’s and getting together on holidays with all the family.

Julia is survived by her children, Maryann (Julius) Cook, John (Georgianna) Olay, Andrew Jr. (Carol) Olay and Rebecca (Brad) Fogleman; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; also, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, William, Joseph and Frank Toney and Helen Wolbert and a great-grandson.
