Baase, Alvina C. (Reis) – of Birch Run, age 88, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare – Cooper Campus in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a charity to be determined at a later date.
Alvina was born February 21, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Pete and Charlotte (Wagner) Wasmiller. She was a longtime member of the former St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Saginaw. Alvina retired from Saginaw Steering Gear and was a member of UAW Local 699. She was also a member of the Saginaw Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are: 2 sons: Peter Reis of AuGres and David (Marcie) Reis of Birch Run; 5 grandchildren: Andrew (Melissa), Rob (Danielle), Jodie, Terry (Grover) and Michelle; 9 great grandchildren: Jaidyn, Mason, Abby, Torrey, Brandon, Kennedy, McKenzie, Greg and Josh; 7 great-great grandchildren: Gregory, Reilly, Sawyer, Jackson, Troy, Addy and Joshua; Brother, Peter Wasmiller; 2 sisters: Emmaline Haenlein and Charlene Murphy; Sister in law: Carol Wasmiller; Brother in law: Patrick Murphy; Daughter in law: Linda Jones; Grandson in law: Kim Griffin; Alvina was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, son, Dan Reis, sister, Helen Balzer, 3 brothers: Waldmar, Robert and Dale Wasmiller, brother in law, Gotfried Balzer and 3 sisters in law: Frieda, Elaine and Doris.
