BROADWORTH, Donald Junior -- Age 86, of Swartz Creek, died March 25, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Thursday, March 29 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor David A. Krueger officiating. Entombment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday and Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Hope Lutheran Church, Swartz Creek or the Swartz Creek Senior Center. Don was born May 24, 1925 in Fairgrove Township the son of James and Eliza (Allington) Broadworth. He had resided in Swartz Creek for 60 years. He married Gloria Mae Streichert on April 12, 1947 in Flint; she preceded him in death March 19, 2012 (just one week ago). He retired from GM Buick in 1983 with 32 years of service, and had also farmed most of his life. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, UAW Local 599, and the Swartz Creek Historical Society. He enjoyed bowling on several leagues, fishing, making apple cider, gardening, and most of all his family. Surviving are: 4 children, Jerry (Martha) Broadworth, Linda (Terry) Scrivener, David (Diane) Broadworth all of Swartz Creek, Diane (Michael) Pelky of Gaines; 10 grandchildren, Julie Broadworth, Andrew (Danielle) Broadworth, Stephen Broadworth, Patrick (Amanda) Scrivener, Carie (Alan) Bryant, Timothy (Jaimi) Scrivener, Nicole (Adam) DeKraker, Aaron (Amanda) Broadworth, Jessica (Sean) Knurek, Jennie (Dan) Campbell; 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria; parents; and brother, Harold. The family would like to thank Jeff and Vickie Creed, his neighbors, for their help in watching over him.
