It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josilynn Louise Hope Ginderske, age 15, who gained her wings on February 7, 2025.
Josilynn was a kind and compassionate soul who left a lasting impact on her community. She brightened every room she entered and touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Born on October 20, 2009, Josilynn was a ninth-grade student at Durand High School, where she was known for her enthusiasm and love for life. She held a special place in her heart for her heroes, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, particularly Raphael from the 2012 series, who had striking green eyes. In addition to her passion for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Raphael, Josilynn loved pizza and the color red. Her kind spirit and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by many.
Josilynn was predeceased by her great-grandmother, Teresa Louise Rowley, and her grandmothers, Jolynn Meseraull and Elmyra.
She is survived by her loving father, Gerald (step-mom, Lisa Bennett) Ginderske, mother, Tara (step-father, Michael) Bentley; step-siblings, Isabella Bentley and Jake Bentley; her half-brother, Jacobi Bentley; her Papa Larry Meseraull; grandma Gail "Gigi" Rowley; Papa Jim Rowley Jr.; grandpa Bowers; grandpa LJ Meseraull; great-grandpa Jim Rowley Sr.; and uncles Jimmy Rowley III, Daryl Christman, and Joe Christman; her aunt Tracy (Larry) Latunski; She also leaves behind numerous cousins, including Jeremy and Andrew Whittaker, and many friends who will always cherish her memory.
A funeral service to honor Josilynn’s life will be held at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the Durand Global Methodist Church, 10016 E. Newburg Rd, Durand, MI 48429. Rev. Dr. Aaron Kesson will officiate. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 501 N Saginaw St., Durand, MI 48429, and from 3:00 to 4:30 PM on Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family to establish an everlasting memorial at the cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.watkinsfuneralhomes.com.
